Winds or a small twister caused serious damage to some of our museum aircraft today.
While over 20 people were visiting the museum for Father’s Day, a strong storm came through the area with up to 75 mph winds and rain. Our OH-58 Kiowa dnAH-1 Cobra were both knocked over. The Kiowa sustained major damage to the left side of the helicopter. The Cobra ended up on top of our RF-8, the OV-10 Mockup was damaged slightly, the O-1 Birddog had damage to its fuselage and wing leading edge. Other aircraft also had minor damage. The Kiowa may be a total loss. More news as it develops.
